About
Ari Burnett is a multimedia concept-based artist working in a style that marries pop-surrealism and Art Nouveau, with elements of psychedelic influence. Their work is inspired by nature, social problems, symbolism, and the connections that can be made between seemingly disparate concepts. They emphasize detail, vibrant colors and textures, as well as scene-building within their overall designs. Some other themes within their work include cycles, polarity and duality, spirituality or metaphysical experience, and social justice.
Ari Burnett is the owner of Real Arternatives, an art business brand that is concerned with creating more sustainable art and products for public consumption. They do this mainly by incorporating items that would normally be thrown away into larger collages and sculptural works, an important part of their sustainability campaign. They currently hold Bachelors of Arts degrees in Art and Anthropology and will continue designing the Lūdus Vītæ Tarot Deck. The Lūdus Vītæ Tarot Deck is a project that gets people to think more deeply about the world and culture that they take for granted. It is a critique of the popularity of WEIRD (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, and Democratic) ideology and the global capitalist system as a whole. They create more sustainable ways of making meaningful art and objects that individuals find practical and inspiring because people are plagued by problems, especially those of their own creation; therefore, they must be the ones to put in the effort to solve them.
